Turf Toe
Turf toe is a sprain of the big toe joint common in field sport athletes. Proper rehabilitation is critical to restoring push-off strength and preventing chronic stiffness that can limit athletic performance.
Common Symptoms
- Pain and swelling at the base of the big toe
- Stiffness and limited big toe extension
- Pain with pushing off or running
- Difficulty wearing cleats comfortably
