Turf Toe

Turf toe is a sprain of the big toe joint common in field sport athletes. Proper rehabilitation is critical to restoring push-off strength and preventing chronic stiffness that can limit athletic performance.

Common Symptoms

  • Pain and swelling at the base of the big toe
  • Stiffness and limited big toe extension
  • Pain with pushing off or running
  • Difficulty wearing cleats comfortably
