Amy Herlong

Head of Operations

Amy Herlong is the Director of Operations at Herlong Sports Physical Therapy. Amy and her husband Shawn founded HSPT in 2021. Knowing that launching the practice was Shawn’s dream, Amy was determined to do everything she could to make it a reality, and now serves a crucial role at our practice. As the Director of Operations, Amy is responsible for handling insurance authorization, invoicing, benefits, patient payment portal logistics, and other vital behind-the-scenes work. Though not a physical therapist, Amy has an athletic background having been a competitive dancer for 14 years, an experience that provided her with some knowledge of the human body and the injuries that plague athletes. Amy is a native of Indian Head, MD and an alum of Lackey High School. She briefly spent time pursuing a career as a professional chef before shifting to cosmetology, where she worked as a hairstylist for four years before starting at HSPT.  Amy currently lives in Reisterstown, MD with her husband Shawn, their daughter Reese, and their crazy husky Crash. In her free time Amy enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and singing.
