MADDIE DICKMAN
Physical Therapist (PT, DPT, CSCS)
Maddie Dickman is a sports physical therapist at Herlong Sports Physical therapy, working with patients out of Campanaro Strength & Conditioning in Marriottsville, MD starting during the summer of 2023. Maddie is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) who combines her knowledge of training and recovery methods to produce the best possible outcomes for her patients.
A native of Sykesville, Maryland, Maddie has a decorated sporting career having participated in field hockey, indoor track, basketball, and lacrosse at the high school level. She was a member of the 2013 Century High School state championship field hockey team and also won the state championship for lacrosse in 2012 and 2015.
Maddie went on to play lacrosse at Towson as a scholarship athlete, helping the Tigers win the Colonial Athletic Association championship in 2016 and participating in the NCAA tournament three separate times. She graduated from Towson cum laude with two bachelor’s degrees: one in Exercise Science and one in Psychology.
As an athlete, Maddie began dealing with knee injuries from a young age which impacted her ability to stay on the field all throughout her athletic career. She spent many hours in physical therapy treatment as a result. These experiences combined with her acuity for the sciences in school inspired her to pursue a career in physical therapy so she could help fellow athletes recover from their injuries.
During her treatment as an athlete, Maddie noticed that there didn’t seem to be a strong emphasis on preventing future injury, which caused her knee injuries to crop up time and again. As a physical therapist, Maddie seeks to turn this into a priority in the hope that her patients won’t have to deal with the physical and emotional toll of reinjury like she did.
With HSPT, Maddie wants to provide an environment that will blend rehab and strength & conditioning to allow athletes to be challenged in ways that will prepare them for the demands of full return to sport. She hopes to provide more education to the community regarding injury prevention and incorporate many preventative exercises throughout rehab sessions.
